Every single section of the Cemetery has now been moved, trimmed and grass cleaned off head stones, markers & vaults. The new focus on completing the entire section before moving on seems to be working pretty well. It will get it’s first real test next spring. Work continues on the small office building at the cemetery. It may take a bit to finish it as we’ll have weather to take into consideration.
If you live in the area come out for a visit with your loved ones. You won’t be wading through tall grass. We’ve also made some progress on getting water to drain from some of the areas that would become pools with any large or long rain.
Thank you all for your understanding, kindness and support!
Gary, Karla, Adam, Jeniffer & Darla
We got started on repairs to the little office at the Cemetery. I had some good helpers. Bringing the table saw out so cuts can be made for windows & other attachments.
We have made good progress in getting the grounds looking good again. New grounds manager & crew along with some equipment upgrades.
Enjoy the pictures posted on our Facebook page. I’ll have our formal Fall Newsletter coming out later this month.
Thanks to all for your patience & support!

A quick update on how things are going for Cushing Fairlawn-New Zion Cemetery.
The roads are holding up well. Depending on funds we may need to wait until next year to come back with the smaller rock which would be the final piece of the road repair & improvements. This year as we have spread over 330 tons of gravel.
We now have two full time ground keepers & one part time. This summer has been a little like last year as we have had more rain during July & so far in August. Thankfully, we’re better equipped this year & the rain hasn’t been as much as the 10” we had last year. One of the toughest & slowest part of keeping the grass under control is the weed whacking & trimming between the graves. Thanks to your generous donations we have been able to purchase a specific trimmer to help. We believe it will not only speed that job up, but also make it less physically demanding and be a more even cut. It will be delivered soon & we’re anxious to see it in action.
